Hello beautiful!

Hello, I am Amy, the creative artist and photographer of Amy Matney Boudoir Studio in Port Angeles. I am a wife of 28 years, have 2 grown children married to wonderful spouses and 3 beautiful grand babies! I absolutely love being a Gigi!

I was born in Port Angeles and raised in Sequim. My husband and I moved to Port Angeles in 1995 after we met on a blind date! We have been together ever since.

Just like many of you, I have said the same things you have said. Made excuses, said that I needed to lose a few extra pounds before being photographed. As a photographer, I always get the question “Why boudoir?” and the answer to that is simple really. Boudoir doesn’t just empower you, it empowers me, too. It gives me the chance to go beyond words. I could say to each of you “you’re beautiful”, but let’s be honest, nine times out of ten, you won’t believe me. I am privileged enough to get behind the lens of a camera and capture images so beautiful and so powerful that it can bring tears of joy to a woman’s eyes.

I am very aware of what social stigmas have done to the female psyche. Women are constantly in a state of comparison and doubt when it comes to how we look. My clients are walking into my studio with an entire lifetime of doubts about their looks and often their self worth. As a boudoir photographer, it is my job to remind them their beautiful! It's my job to create an environment based on trust. With such an intimate process, building trust between me and my clients is key to helping them connect with me, and the camera.

I get to be a part of the process of showing, not telling, a woman how truly remarkable she is. I wish every woman could experience a boudoir session. I get to see women truly believe in their worth, their strength, and their beauty, and I gotta say, I couldn’t imagine doing anything more amazing.
